If God put animals here to use as we see fit, why is dog fighting and stuff like that illegal?

God put the animals to use however we want, like plants. He made the whole planet for us. The whole universe! If we put restrictions on our use of it, aren't we in some way offending God? We should use all resources available to us with gusto.
